Jose |
Jose- is on a journey to
find his father and bring closure to his family dilemma of the whereabouts
of his father for the past two years. He loves his father very much
for what he has afforded him and his family in the past but now
is looking to end his mother’s depression. Although he has
doubts about his father’s whereabouts he still has a greater
respect for his father and believes that his father had fallen upon
some bad times or people and need his assistance. In the process
has to leave his one true love Diana in Mexico in order to find
his father.

Manuel |
Jack Guzman is
Manuel the coyote that brings the immigrants to the United States
in the process learns something about himself and his character. Jack
as an actor has many credits both screen and television. His latest
undertaking prior to the Road Taken was a feature film End of the
Spear. He also has had leading roles in Spirit of 76, The Genius Club,
and The Spot among countless other film credits. His television credits
span the gamut beginning with a series regular on the Power Rangers
Wild Force, costarring on Heroes, The O.C., What About Brian, Vanished,
C.S.I., C.S.I. Miami, Days of our Lives and innumerable other television
credits. He joins the film project with a myriad of experience and
knowledge of the business to the extent of being the quintessential
professional.

Ramon |
Ramon- is
on his first journey to America. He has the mentality of a young
carefree teenager all the while understanding that the reason for
this is because of always being protected and given all he needs
by his parents. His first trip is just to have fun and enjoy America
and all that is has to offer. Ramon is in his mid to late twenties
overweight as a result of living a good life in Mexico. Ramon also
has a sense of humor as a result of always having and never needing
for a thing in life, in comparison to the others making the journey,
he has no reason to leave.

Diana |
Valenzia Algarin
joins the film project The Road Taken as the lead female role for
the film. Valencia portrays Diana a young woman who loses her true
love to the American Dream. Valenzia brings to life the character
by giving her both strength and vulnerability. Algarin is a young
Latina Native of Boston who recently moved to California to pursue
her career as an actress/entertainer. Some of her stage credits include:
The Piano Lesson by the brilliant and well known play write August
Wilson, Laundry & Bourbon, Biloxi Blues... Some of her film credits
include: "Eden" a series (pilot) for HBO based on a woman’s
"OZ"- where Valenzia played lead, Jimmy Kimmel Live, MTV
Puerto Rico, the sitcom All of Us, Girlfriends, Dream Girls, hosting
International Rhythms (music show) ...Valenzia is also working with
Singer/Producer Margo Thunder of 9.9 and Lady Soul fame.

Jose Senior
|
Jose Senior - had to leave
his family in Mexico in order to support his family. He sends his
family money from the United States and for the last two years has
failed to send money. Jose jr. wants to go to the United States
to find his father and bring closure to their family dilemma. Jose
Sr. has a new family in the United States and enjoys his new life
and has no interest in returning to Mexico. Although he loves his
family he has grown acclimated to his new life style. Jose feels
like he has already fulfilled his duties to his family and now is
entitled to moving on with his life.

David |
Jeff Torres is
David whom is leaving Mexico to try and afford his family a better
life in Mexico. His ultimate goal is to provide for his family and
give them a chance at life. Jeff as an actor has multiple film credits,
television, and theatre under his belt. In film Jeff had the lead
role on Fear of Attraction, The FirstTime, Metal Shop Massacre, and
countless others before joining the cast of The Road Taken in a featured
role. His training in theatre also is quite extensive as he has been
a part of many theater projects such as A Midsummer Nights Dream,
True West, The Ugly Duckling, The Visit, and While The Lights Were
Out among the myriad of others in which he performed. Jeff gives David
a tug at your heart reality check in the process endears David through
his struggle.

Lucas |
Xavier Jimenez
comes to The Road Taken with a sound background in acting that will
take him to the next level. Xavier portrays Lucas a young Mexican
who is trying to do the right thing for his family. In the process
trying to make light of a serious situation and the dangers that are
involved in crossing the border. Xavier Jimenez has studied acting
at the University of London in England and The American Musical and
Dramatic Academy in New York. He has appeared in off-off Broadway
shows including: Suburbia, in which he played "Buff", The
House of Ramon Iglesia, playing Javier, and The Glass Menagerie where
he played Jim and modestly earned an Irene Ryan nomination. He made
his film debut in the film Zooey playing Angel. Jimenez was deservedly
nominated as Best Male Lead in a Feature Drama (out of 200 films)
for the "2005 Methodfest."

John Days |
Serigo Samayoa comes
to The Road Taken to take on the character of John Days. John is both
pretentious and cut-throat as a news reporter. His inability to see
the difference between real life and reporting makes him blind to
the fact that the story is not always what is seems to be. Sergio
has film, television and theater experiences that will only lend themselves
to the project. He had roles in Esperanza, La Vida Por Un Rato De
Placer, and Jolly Roger as well as other films. His television experience
includes Variety Show, Noches de Locura, and Mentes Sana as far as
theater is concerned many prominent roles have been portrayed such
as Orgon in Tartuffe, Jim in The Glass Menagerie, And Ignacio in Malos
Droadictos. These and various other roles will bring John Days to
life and add to the character’s direction in the development
for the role.

Larry |
Jeff Waugh is
a local product grew up in Odessa, Texas and attended high school
at Permian High. Although a novice as far as his acting experience,
his character of Larry is not far from his true life. He portrays
Larry an educated cameraman for The Road Taken. He began his acting
career as an extra for the feature film “Friday Night Lights.”
Waugh portrayed a football player, as an extra appearing on camera
with actors such as Billy Bob Thornton, Derek Luke and Jay Hernandez.
Jeff brings to The Road Taken not only intelligence and calm but also
a sense of reason amongst all the chaos.

Juan |
Alvaro Orlando comes
to The Road Taken from Miami, Florida where he attended film school.
He always wanted to be behind the scenes and one day ultimately to
become a director. His film credits include Boy s tenyu 2(2007) aka,
Shadow Boxing 2, and the television series The Pickup Artist (2007)
which as a contestant he won. Alvaro will portray Juan, for which
if there is such a thing as type cast, this would be the role. Juan
is a debonair and confident about his abilities to seduce the woman.
Alvaro will bring to the character a smooth and suave persona as well
as knowledge of the game and what it takes to lure women in. Although
his experience is limited his willingness to give everything to his
character will make Juan come to life.

Tina |
Sarah Lappin
joins the cast of the Road Taken to play the role of Tina for the
film. Sarah has film, television, and stage credits that will give
her character of Tina credibility. On stage credits include Thing
or Thingy and Waiting for Lefty. Her television credits include spots
for MTV, CMT, Bravo, and ESPN Networks. She has also had comedic roles
in feature films such as Naked Run and Touch Wood and a dramatic role
in the movie Rite of Passage. Sarah will also showcase her dancing
abilities for the film in both a hip hop dance sequence and tango
dance sequence. Sarah will also give the role of Tina a hard edge
as well as class as she portrays her with the utmost professionalism.

Heath Bulter
joins the cast of The Road Taken as a hard nosed news reporter and
one of the featured dancers. Heath has many film, television, and
theatre credits to her name. Her film credits include Bitter and Sweet
and The Roommate, as the lead, as well as Corpses, Resurrection and
Twirl in supporting roles. Her television experience speaks for itself
she appeared on Linda’s Locomotion as a series regular, Kenan
and Kel, Figure It Out, and Our Gift To You on television. In her
theatre experience she has appeared in productions such as Magnificat,
The Importance of Being Earnest, Littlest Mermaid, Pride and Prejudice,
The Music Man, as well as Fiddler on the Roof and Out Of Gas. Heath’s
acting and dance training will bring a fresh and skilled presence
to the project. Heath has been a Jacksonville Jaguar cheerleader which
gives her an edgy and innovative feel as she dances the hip hop sequence.
Heath brings experience and knowledge as well as skill to the project
which will lend itself to the character and the dance sequence.

Erica Lewman
comes to The Road Taken with both acting and performing, as some of
her lifelong endeavors. Erica will join the cast as a featured dancer
and also as a news reporter. Her poise on the dance floor, will allow
her shine in both the Tango and hip hop dance sequences, for the film.
Erica’s smile will permeate the camera as she portrays a news
reporter whom is the consummate professional. She is currently signed
on with Appletini Talent Agency, busy training through acting classes
and Macker Entertainment. Erica is trying to sharpen her skills and
develop her craft to reach her ultimate goal of becoming the complete
professional.

Dream Girl |
Marbi Vaughn
comes to The Road Taken from Cape Town, South Africa, to take on the
role of the dream girl and featured dancer in both the Tango and Hip
Hop dance sequences. Marbi desires to pursue a career as a singer/dancer,
which led her to Los Angeles, where she competed in the World Championship
of Performing Arts against 32 countries and won the overall grand
champion award. She is now in the process of working along side legendary
talent manager Bob Marcucci, the man behind Frankie Avalon and Fabian.
Marbi recently appeared in the Adam Sandler film, Don’t Mess
With the Zohan as the principle dancer and the thriller television
pilot Full Moon as the lead actress. Marbi is represented by Ben Scantlin,
of Imagination 9 Entertainment and is looking forward to securing
a record deal in the near future.
